In the past, two exceptional sculptures, the “Pieta” and the “Mise au Tombeau du Christ”, took place in the chapel of the castle. These very famous works were transferred in 1908 to the Metropolitan Museum in New York. Until recently, reproducing these sculptures for conservation reasons was considered as impossible. However, thanks to technological progress, the “Atelier des Fac-Similés du Périgord” managed to create exact replicas of these pieces.
The Castle of Biron, because of its impressive architecture and picturesque surrounding landscapes, is an ideal environment for film shoots. This stunning setting has captivated filmmakers and spectators.
